At Sen Academy, maths

to ride a bike. We don't just explain how, you'll be doing
it.
What is Sen Academy?
Sen Academy is a maths coaching service for Junior Cert and Leaving Cert students in Ireland. We run 2-hour maths workshops after-school and at the weekends where you work on the problems you encounter during the week. We teach you maths, team you with other students and give you the chance to practice, helping you get better.
We call it coaching because we think learning maths is like learning hurling or ballet. As well as excellent instruction, you need to build skills and practice to get better. So, at Sen Academy, you'll get clear explanations from brilliant teachers. And, you'll work with other students solving problems together.
What should I expect?
Set your own agenda.
Work on issues you are having at school. You'll send on photos of problems you encounter during the week. So, you'll learn maths AND get your homework done.
Learn from excellent teachers.
Our teachers eat, breathe and sleep maths education. But, we think you'll also learn by meeting other students who are working on the same problems as you.
Practice without judgement.
The old adage that "practice makes perfect" is as true for maths as it is for hurling and ballet. And practicing maths means learning from your mistakes.

Why do I like Sen Academy?
Its very useful. It helps to get a better understanding of the subject of your choice.
How would I describe these workshops?
It is two hours of maths. It would be like tutoring but the tutor doesn't give a lecture about something irrelevant for an hour, you get to pick a subject to work on. If you get stuck, you can ask for help but they won't give the full information just parts you can piece together to solve the question.
One thing I wasn't expecting at Sen Academy?
I had people from around my age group with the same problems and we could work together to solve the different problems.
